Embracing Differences with Christlike Love

I absolutely love this post Russell M. Nelson shared on Facebook earlier today:

"Differences of opinion are part of life. I work daily with people who sometimes see an issue differently. My two noble counselors, Dallin H. Oaks and Henry B. Eyring, have taught me how to disagree in a Christlike way. Over the last five years of working together, we haven’t always agreed. Still, they know I want to hear their honest feelings about everything we discuss—especially sensitive issues.”

From their examples, Nelson has learned six ways to disagree:

1. Express feelings with love.

2. Don’t think you know best.

3. Don’t compete.

4. Don’t rigorously defend your position.

5. Let the Spirit guide your conversations.

6. Be filled with charity, the pure love of Christ.

Nelson added, “Charity is the antidote to contention. It is the principal characteristic of a true follower of Jesus Christ. Charity defines a peacemaker.”

Can you imagine how much better our relationships, businesses, and lives would be if we followed these 6 ways to disagree?

If this resonates with you and you're someone who aspires to be this kind of person too, I'd love to connect over a coffee to discuss potential collaborations or partnerships. Let's explore how we can support each other personally and professionally.  #CharityInRelationships #PowerOfLove #CollaborateAndGrow
